Meta - Fishing with Dad

A lot of great dads are crummy at talking on Zoom, but they’re awesome at hanging out. For Father’s Day, we connected a long distance dad and his adult daughter to spend some quality time doing a classic dad/kid activity – fishing. But in the metaverse.

With the help of the game Real VR Fishing, we told the story of a real daughter, Carson, who lives away from her dad, Mel and brought them together with the Meta Quest 2 for a long overdue fishing trip. Fishing with Dad shows how distance is not a barrier in the metaverse and that over Father’s Day (or any time) hanging with Dad again is fun.

The film was directed by Chris Wilcha and produced by Park Pictures. We worked with Dark Burn Creative to capture the in-game footage of Carson and Mel playing Real VR fishing and were able to edit the IRL and VR footage together with the help of our friends at Work Editorial being able to tell a seamless story as our viewer follows our father/daughter from their living room to the catching fish at Yosemite.

In all we shipped 50+ assets to run across a variety of digital and social placements including 1 x :60, 1 x :30, 2x :15s, and 1 x :06, Facebook/Instagram Carousels, Stories assets and an editable #ReelsWithDad Reels template.
